Steadfast Commitment to Both Calling and Practice
Where faith intersects teaching and laughter is built into the curriculum.
As a Christian and educator who firmly believes God has a sense of humor, especially considering I’ve found my calling in the mayhem of academia. On this page, I aim to be transparent about what I’m personally learning, while recognizing God's perfect timing has a surprising amount to say about continuous improvement, assignment instructions, and participation.
This collection of reflections, resources, and occasional teaching antics aim to provide honest takes on finding faith in part-time faculty life, tips for teaching with grace (both kinds), and permission to laugh at the crunchiness of it all. Because sometimes the best prayers start with, 'Lord, help me understand what in the world this student/faculty/dean/barista is trying to say.' and end with, ‘I need a miracle to decipher the faculty copier/parking lot/technology/schedule without losing my religion.‘ Amen and Amen.
So scroll on through. Pause for a few moments of intentional reflection. It might just become your most significant teachable moment yet.
